We really are the last generation of petrol heads. Enjoy it while we can. I've loved it.

I've had 3. A beautiful blabk 3.2. I loved that car. I swear, I smiled every time I turned the engine on. Sadly the electrics started to fail, and I was able to replace it with a 993. I just loved the shape of a 993.i found one with a fixed spoiler, the 3.2 had a whale tail, I wanted to keep that shape.
993 #1 was a shed. It never had a service bill under a grand. A bash and insurance payout meant I could swap it for another 993. This one has been great, until the engine blew. But - 190k, it had done well. So fixed that. But I'd bought it as a daily driver doing 70-100 miles a day. Mostly M62/M6/M58 or M55. The M58/M55 are racetracks. 100 in the middle lane,, never any cops. The M58 is used by traffic cops to race. You didn't hear that here. Best speed 135 and was overtaken by a scoobie lol.

Llangynog to Ffestiniog, early Saturday morning, when there's no traffic, in July, The Isley Brothers 'Summer Breeze' on the sounds. Since I was a kid, I'd dreamt of driving a 911 through the Welsh mountains listening to 'Summer Breeze'. Driving like a twat up the valley, you could see there was nothing coming the other way so take bends on the opposite side of the road. Across the tops at 60-100. There's a hairpin bend at the end, and after that you could see no traffic for miles and go round bends sidewards, tyres squealing like an 70s American detective program. Then just a chilled drive to Bala. Then drive along the lake, and drive like an idiot over the mountain roads to Ffestiniog, People are up and about and everyone stops and stares at a 911, especially when it's backfiring. Then a quick blast to the bottom of Tryfan next to Snowden.

I've had some handy advice on here, thanks Mo for running it.

Good luck everyone, enjoy your 993s.

A sad post, and one I will make one day no doubt.

A great description of driving through north Wales - thanks for that. It's made my morning, so far
