PCM unable to log my Porsche ID in

Hi

just gone for a drive and when I started the car the PCM came up with a message asking me to Change Account, be a Guest or Start Setup. It appears to have logged me out.

I have tried to login again with my Porsche ID but the Login button is grayed out. I can also see that when I try to Change account my previous account is there but is grayed out.

in Guest mode most things work but without my settings. LTE is showing. I can access the Weather app so the car has internet connectivity.

is there a server side issue with the authentication server? Anyone else having issues?

I'll post an update on this in case it helps anyone.

I was about to wipe the PCM settings in case the software had got itself in some weird state following an update, but I then decided to pause and not rush to make things worse. I locked up the car, and went for a walk.

Came back, fired the car up, and lo-and-behold, PCM automatically logged back into my normal account. All back to normal, preferences and all.

Perhaps it was a temporary server issue, perhaps it was a temporary connectivity issue at a bad time, perhaps it needed a hard restart as opposed to just turning on and off.

I have had the same issue on my 992 c2. Since I got the car in October once a week or so when I get in, the cars sim won't connect and at that point I can't use any car play or bluetooth functions. The last time this happened I had the same issue and it actually logged me out of the PCM completely and I couldn't log in because the SIM card wasn't connected. At first when this happened I think maybe the third time I tried to put the car into privacy mode and then turn it back off again to try and trick the sim to some extent. This worked but since then it doesn't work anymore. I have tried every possible way I can think of to try and reset the PCM without a hard factory reset (wiping all data) The only thing I find that works is fully turning the car off and leaving it for 10 minutes. I spoke to a technician about the issue but they said to just bring the car in and leave it with them which is a bit of an inconvenience. I haven't managed to find any other threads on this until now. My only guess is that it is a fault with the sim maybe?

hi!

before this 992 (which has PCM 6 and only integrated 4G) I used to have a 991.1 and a Panamera which was probably more similar to yours. in them I used to use an external SIM of my own (Voxi or Smarty).

Occasionally I would notice that the car had no signal and the fix would be to pop out the sim and then push it back in. It also used to lose my Porsche ID regularly (probably not helped by the fact that where I park the car is almost a dead zone) and I would end up punching the code back in to sort it out. One kind of got used to its foibles.
