996 C4S Lambda Sensor Replacement

My C4S has developed an Engine Check light issue in the last week. Having read the code, it refers to the lambda sensor, so was just wondering how difficult this would be to replace them myself, or whether it's better to take it to a specialist? Do they tend to be hard to access and/or hard to remove given that they sit in the exhaust pipe?

The car is running absolutely fine, even with the light showing. I have cancelled the code and the light stays off for 50 miles or so, but then it's back on again with the same error code, so I really want to sort it properly.

Thanks, Phil

Does the code specifically refer to the lambda sensor, as I had a similar situation but with a running lean error and I thought was the same, but it turned out to be the air oil separator ?

Also, I seem to recall that the chap I take mine to advised that you really need to take the rear bumper off to get the sensors out and that they can be a bugger to remove, sometimes needing to be heated.

Let us know how you get on if you do replace them yourself.
