Aventurine Green & Expresso / Cognac

Hello - I'm playing with colour combinations for a Boxster GTS 4.0 I ordered a couple of months back. It will likely be a year or so before my build date is confirmed, but I'm keeping myself entertained playing with the configurator in the meantime. Many of the stock colours seem pretty bland currently, including the GT Silver with Red hood that I used as a base for the order. However, this particular one intrigues me - Aventurine Green with an Expresso / Cognac interior, Brown Roof and Aurum wheels. My local OPC (Bournemouth) doesn't have any cars in currently featuring any of those hues, and I couldn't find the relevant samples in their config room yesterday either. So, might anyone actually have a car with some of these and be able to share some pictures please? Many thanks

That is nothing like the original AG I used to have on a 993 many years ago it was a much darker hue of green almost a flip paint effect

that looks closer to Agate , does look nice and I like the tan interior but to wait for over a year for a new car sorry no way.

I've ordered Aventurine on my CGTS but with silver wheels.

silver wheels look much nicer to me than gold ones. And calipers are better in yellow.

I have seen a 992 in Aventurine with Espresso leather and it looked good.

Thanks for the link Motorhead - my OPC contact mentioned that, but not the price! Much as I liked Speed Yellow, Meteor Grey and Seal Grey on previous cars, even by the usual inflated prices Porsche apply to options (often for items that may be standard on many other marques too), I think the cost of this latest service is astounding. £7.5k for a previously-used paint shade is really taking the michael in my view; let alone charging £15k for a unique colour - if you really went to town with other options like ceramic brakes too, the latter could well lead to some examples of this model costing a six figure sum. If I decide not to go with any of the current palette options, it would probably work out a lot cheaper to get a good quality wrap instead, which would have the added benefit of protecting the paintwork for future sale too.

The wrap wont protect against stone chips etc, you'll need PPF for that and if one is lucky enough to be able to splash out for a PTS colour, I'd be getting the whole car PPFd.

Hi

I have Espresso leather on my 2014 981 Cayman S. I saw this on the show car in Geneva and loved it. It is SO much nicer than black! Happy to take pictures if still of interest. My car is GT Silver and I know in daylight it looks pretty much like any other silver, however in low light conditions it looks much much nicer - as one friend put it "it looks like it is carved out of a solid chunk of aluminium"!

Thanks wysir9 - it would be good to see some pictures of Expresso leather in your car. I just wonder how well it will work on its own (rather than paired with Cognac) with darker paint shades generally, but can see it working well with the likes of GT Silver.

I have just locked in my Cayman 4.0 spec with OPC Bournemouth. Aventurine green with Espresso interior!

What did you settle on in the end?

A long wait for me yet I'm afraid - I can't see me getting to the stage of locking in my choices until at least the second half of next year. I like the Expresso shade, but am still leaning towards a mix with Cognac if I go for AG, as I like a bit of contrast. Out of interest, which wheels did you select Chris? I think the standard satin black can look too dark alongside green paint, but both Silver and Platinum seem ok and I am still drawn to Aurum as part of the overall combination.

Although not a Boxster, my 992 is Aventurine Green with Aurum wheels. It has Island Green leather interior which has a hint of green in it, but most would think its a shade of cream.

The whole colour combo suits it very well indeed and I have had many very pleasant compliments. I think a darker interior would would not look quite as good albeit better for not showing and marks. That said mine still looks perfect after 3k miles.

If you were closer to where I live in Lancashire you would be more than welcome to come and see it.

PC Preston has an Aventurine cab in with grey leather interior. Looks good but does not have the same impact as my colour combo. You should be able to see it on their web site.
