Should I sell my Porsche Cayenne 2011 diesel 30K now?, considering London ULEZ

Really happy with my 2011 Porsche Cayenne (diesel, 30K). I personally I like to keep it for another 1-2 years, considering the condition and low miles. But I am wondering if not selling it right now could turn out to be a bad decision causing me huge loss? I.e., if the price goes down too low in next 1-2 years. I know petrol/diesel cars are not the future. But the question is if another1-2yrs will make a big difference or not. I am confused whether to sell my Cayenne now and buy a Euro 6 compatible car or keep it for another 1-2 years. Appreciate if you can share your thoughts. Also should we expect more UK cities adopting ULEZ in next 1-2 years?

Note that I live in London but my postcode doesn’t come under the ULEZ circle (just outside the border). I don’t normally drive into city, so I am ok that way.

Many Thanks
Viv

A difficult call because if you are not incurring a ULEZ charge everyday (and perhaps even if you are) there might be a big bill to meet given the value of your car compared to something equivalent and sufficiently new. Also the Cayenne diesel is much more economical fuel wise than the petrol equivalents.

Use a website such as webuyanycar.com to see how much your current car is really worth today. They will be sending it well away from London where people are looking for a lux 4x4 with no thought of ULEZ. I was offered a much better price for a similar car by them than my OPC for a part exchange. Helped of course by the current demand for decent second hand cars and the shortage of them.

Think also about joining one of the Dieselgate legal actions to recoup your losses whether you sell or not such as https://www.leighday.co.uk/latest-updates/cases-and-testimonials/cases/porsche-audi-seat-skoda-and-volkswagen-vehicle-emissions-claims/

I am inside ULEZ and have decided to sell my beloved diesel Cayenne but the bill for the replacement is significant.
