Hi folks,

I’m New to the forum so forgive me if this is in the wrong place. My name is Ron and I’ve been a long time Porsche fan and owner but new to the club.

My first Porsche was a 2006 911 (997) Carrera which I owned for 2 years before trading it in for a BMW i8 ……big mistake. The i8 didn't last long due to the many compromises you have to

live with on those cars. The worse was getting in and out when someone parks too close to make it impossible to open the gullwing doors, you have a choice of climb in through the window or crawl in under the door :)

Since then I bought a 993 Carrera cabrio and greedily also a 993 Turbo!!

Which I bid on when drunk on Collecting Cars and won…..like a very expensive eBay!

looking forward to getting to know some of you and I hope to get along to some events soon.

I am based in Newcastle/Ponteland.

I am a fairly experienced diy mechanic and have restored cars, own most tools and have various Porsche diagnostic equipment if anyone ever needs a hand.

Hi Ron

Welcome to R3.

You should have received our monthly newsletter which went out today and gives details of our forthcoming events, if not please email r3@porscheclubgb.com to ensure we have your correct email address.

As well the monthly newsletter, we also post our events here on the forum, and in Porsche Post.

As a region we organise events all year round, some planned, but also impromptu runs -hopefully we will see you at an event soon.

If you have any questions or need any help, please email us at the above address.

Kind regards - Philip & Jacquie

R3 Regional Organisers

Thanks Jacquie

Very much looking forward to meeting you all and become an active member.

I did see there was the border raid coming up on a Sunday and I might see if I can make that one.

My 9 year old son is also looking forward to coming along for some events :)

Cheers

Hi Ron

Would be great to have you and your son along to events. Sorry, to put you on the spot, but if you wish to come along and require lunch can you please let us know as we need to book lunch no later than Wednesday this week. If you don't require lunch but wish to come along you can let us know nearer the time.

Kind regards - Jacquie

Hi Ron welcome to the club! The turbo looks stunning and I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh so to speak. I'm hoping to be at the meeting on Wednesday so if you see a one armed block please say hello.

cheers Jim, I’ll see if I can make it down. I normally have to take kids to Karate on Weds evenings but I’ll see what I can wrangle!

The Turbo is undergoing some restoration at the moment and is going in for paint next week. Wearing primer on the front end.

I think I’ll have to sit that one out this time. My car will be in the paint shop from the 15th

Welcome to a great group of Porsche owning people, Ron.

We're sure you'll enjoy the experiences and the company.
