I've used LV for many years not least because they give 180 days european cover in the policy. They've just written to me saying they will no longer insure the car as its too valuable! (to be fair I always thought their policy was incredibly good value at around the £2-300 mark fully comp. Anyone got alternative recommendations especially with a good period of european cover? many thanks

Recently re-insured with Classicline Insurance which includes European cover of 90 days per trip as well as breakdown cover (including European) as standard, circa £350.

I’m insured with Admiral insurance on a multi car policy which is much cheaper than others. However I went on my first track day earlier this year and found that one day track day insIran e cost me twice my annual premium.
so this year I will insure the 993 separately and with a specialist.
From conversations with others there looks like three or four specialists insurers and I look forward to following this thread to find out which is best.

Hi. I went with Footman James. I was with Admiral. FJ have a lot of extras - guaranteed value, you can buy the car if its written off. It cost about £100 less, IIRC about £420. Its, less than my missus has to pay for her Fiesta which annoys her immensely (another bonus ??)

Hi Nick, +1 for Classic-Line, Euro cover is included as standard + they do Guaranteed Valuations, so definitely worth considering.... I've been with them now for 10 years
Obviously premiums are a postcode lottery + mileage dependant

I am another long term Classicline user. They seem good to deal with, happy to make amendments during the year and allow 5 UK track days a year, requires prior notification and must be with an approved track day organization.

However, I have never had to make a claim, and this is the acid test of an insurer

I'll probably move to Classicline in March when my renewal is due because I'm currently with AAManning and I've seen, on another thread, that their underwriter has stopped covering track days (due to a couple of write-offs - surprise surprise it's not just about taking the premiums[8|]). Not that I've been on a track for a while, but I'd get frustrated if I knew I could not.
