We have two 1/2 hour aerobatic experience flights available to be won via a raffle to raise money for the Children's Hospice. These are normally £150 each. The flights are operated by SW Aerobatics at Bodmin Airfield

The aeroplane they use was previously owned by James May, hence the reg!

The date is 2nd April 2022 at 1100 but is purely for the sake of creating the event and will be subject to availability and, of course, the weather.

In addition to this, we intend to hold a car display at the airfield on the day of the flights to make it a really special day out and you are invited to that. They have a cafe on site at the flying club.

It will work like this. Initially there will be 500 tickets available at £5 per ticket. PM or email me at r15@porscheclubgb.com to purchase tickets and I will give you the bank details to transfer the funds. If you can't do BACS then I will give you the address to send a cheque.

You can buy any number of tickets. You can choose the numbers (if available) or I will choose them for you via the Google random number generator.
If 500 tickets are sold before the draw date of 1st Feb 2022, I will allocate another 100 until they are sold and so on. The draw will also be done live via Zoom using a random number generator.

This is a great chance to get a superb flight for you or a family member/friend and support our wonderful charity. Every penny raised will go to them.

The Cornwall Flying Club are very keen for us to hold a car display on the same day as the experience flights. Also, they hope to fly in some interesting vintage aircraft to make a very special day indeed. The Decathlon aerobatic aircraft will also be available for flights throughout the day at "club" rates.

Only a handful of tickets sold so far - come on folks!

Same weekend as the Southwest Tour unfortunately, otherwise it would have been fun to join in the vehicle display. [;)]

Regards,

Clive

Just come off the phone to the Event organiser at Bodmin. We definitely have ourselves an event! The Porsche Club Aerobatic and Vintage Aircraft Show. Nominally the 2nd April. Put it in your diary!! They are going to make a special effort to get some really interesting old aircraft in so we need to make an equally special effort to put on a great display of Porsches. 20-30 cars needed . The reserve date, if the weather forecast is poor, will be the 3rd.
BTW, lots of unsold raffle tickets...

Thank you all who bought tickets for this raffle. We sold 209 tickets and raised £1045 for the Children's Hospice.

Morning all. We have a wee problem with the Bodmin event in April...read on.

Due to the Board, who run the airfield, demanding a £50 per flight payment from Andy, the SW Aerobatic operator, he has moved his operation and aircraft to Dunkeswell. Obviously there would be a considerable cost involved for him to fly to Bodmin and back to fly the two voucher winners flights. He has, however, said he can do this if we can sell a few more vouchers ( minimum of 3) and make his return trip viable.
If we don't then the Bodmin event will have to go ahead without the aero experience flights and the two winners will get their flights from Dunkeswell. The cost for the 1/2 flights would be £190. Let me know ASAP if you would like to buy a voucher.

Just spoken to the flying club organiser. All good for tomorrow. In fact, the forecast has improved since this morning. It will be chilly, of course, but lighter winds. Tours of the hangar and tower approved! Aircraft scheduled to fly in from near and far.
Pleasure flights available on a cost share basis.
Please observe all instructions when on the airfield.
When you wish to leave, please see me or one of the helpers first so they can inform the tower.
Bring warm clothes ??

Thank you to everyone who supported our event at Bodmin today. While not the best weather, it could have been a lot worse!
I counted 35 cars in total and I think 12 of you took flights.
They are such a friendly bunch at the flying club and they were thrilled at the turn out.
