964 Brake Squeal

Having issues with my 1992 964 C2 brakes making a very loud squeal when coming to a stop. Seems to be once warmed up, and from the front brakes. I've had all four calipers reconditioned, new discs, new pads. Still happens. Nearly caused a cyclist to come off their bike yesterday. I'd be grateful for any ideas, or how others have resolved this. Love the car otherwise. Many thanks.

Did someone else do the work? If so I'd go back to them.

The brakes have anti squeal damping plates which should have been replaced at the same time so I'd start with checking this was done.

96435109601 and 96435109602 (4 of each for both front brakes, not sure how many for rear probably same)

There are two part numbers as pistons have two different piston sizes and these fit into each piston and stick to the pads. I found them a bit fiddly to install, you could install pads without these though so is possible to miss that step. It is also possible to reuse them but that isn't ideal and they are designed to be used once.

There are also a number of threads on rennlist on causes of brake squeal so you could Google for those too.

Thank you - very helpful. Yes had the work done and will be taking it back, but would also like to take a look myself if possible, as the nearest specialist place is quite a distance away. Cheers.
