Following the doldrums of the upcoming winter months, thoughts will be turning to the brighter prospects of next Spring and we’ve been thinking about a season’s opening 992 Register tour in the South West for members to look forward to. We have been in preliminary discussions with a luxury North Devon hotel as our base and they are able to provide participants with an all-in package at a concessionary rate of around £350.

The tour would be organised and hosted by me, Clive White on behalf of 992 Register and run to a similar format previously put on for 997 & 991 members. We will meet up at the hotel on Friday evening, enjoy a full day’s touring on Saturday, an evening gala dinner and then a further ½ day tour on Sunday taking us up to a luncheon halt near the Motorway network, thus giving crews the afternoon for the homeward journey.

The tour will take in some of the best driving roads and most beautiful scenery in the country.

Main features will be:-

  • Magnificent Driving Roads
  • Superb Scenery
  • Luxurious Hotel
  • Great Camaraderie

This will be predominantly a driving weekend with members able to extend their cars on some testing country roads, whilst those in more of a cruising mood will be able to enjoy some magnificent vistas. An eclectic mix of driving, sightseeing, social and rural appreciation in a magnificent part of the world.

Just floating an idea atm and looking to gauge interest from members - without any firm commitment at this stage. if this sounds like your kind of event, please let us know either by posting here or emailing 992@porscheclubgb.com.

If there is sufficient support, we will progress it and let you have more details soon.

Regards

Clive

Hi Clive

Myself and Carol are free on those dates and hopefully will be able to join you if it goes ahead.

Thanks
couple of questions….Is the £350 per couple? What’s the hotel in North Devon?

cheers

Rick

Hi Rick,
Thanks for the interest.
Room rate is per room for the weekend based on 2 people sharing.
We're not releasing details of the hotel ATM for commercial reasons. You will not be disappointed in the standard.
But atm, we're just looking for expressions of interest. Obviously more details to come through once we have decided its a goer. [:)]

Regards,

Clive

Thanks Clive

Lorna and I may be interested depending on hotel etc…

cheers

Rick

992 Targa 4S - Taycan Cross on way.

Rick,
This is an open forum - 992 Register currently doesn't have a "members only" section.
However, if you'd care to email me lancerlot@hotmail.co.uk I'd be happy to provide further details.

Regards,

Clive

I would yes as it allows us to be much freer about stuff, but I guess it's really up to our joint Register Secretaries.

Regards,

Clive

I've emailed the 992 RSs asking the question.
Maybe you could too saying why it would be useful?

Hi Clive

Janice and I may be interested too. The snag may be that our 992 is meant to be delivered in March but I suspect it wont be hence we would need to use our 996 instead.... Would that be a major issue?

Thanks

Brian

992 Members Only Forum now up and running (I think!) Do you want me to move this thread there?

Hello Brian,
Thanks for your enquiry.
We can only accommodate 992's on this trip, but if your new steed turns up in time, feel free to come back and we can review the situation then.

Thanks Alan, not showing up atm, but I'll keep an eye out. I would suggest Technical, FAQ's and Driving Roads should also be included in the Members Only section, but again it's up to our RS's.

It looks as though the event is now taking place, so I'll retain this thread, then start another in MO section when more details are to hand. I am hoping this will be sometime next week.

Regards,

Clive

That's most odd as I used the same settings as for the R15 MO and 997 MO. Have you looggedout and back in again? I'll get George to have alook

Hi,
  • Please be advised, click on TEST to see "new" members only forum test
  • Great to hear this tour will be going ahead. Looking forward to it :)

Hi Clive,
I think you may have me down for this event, if not please tick add.
My new GT3 has very low ground clearance so I hope the route is all tarmac, I remember the last SW Tour, one road with undergrowth in the middle of the road on the way to Westward Ho.
