Future Plans

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all ok and getting out and about on those odd dry days. Its good to see some of your road trip photos on your personal Face Book (FB).

It reminded me of one of our discussions at a zoom meeting during the lockdown where it was mentioned/suggested we looked into having a R10 FB. Has anything been done? Has it been looked into. I know we have some members who would be able to set one up.
Other regions have a FB page ie: R21, R20, R31 to name a few and are active. I think I am right in saying we have a very broad demographic and whilst I know we can’t please all the members, all the time, pleasing more of the members, more of the time would be good.

Not everyone reads emails and I’m not sure what percentage in R10 are on FB. Most social media sights like FB, Instagram, Twitter is actually popular and growing and is a media to advertise events through these channels.

What do members think?

Also the lockdown did not help our plans in R10 and I feel we have reached a point where we dont seem to have anything to look forward to or anything planned beyond middle of October for R10. I am happy to help and get some events in the calendar. We have some wonderful roads in the Region and some fantastic welcoming pubs and some interesting venues. Can we please get things moving. I joined R10 because of the interesting events we had in the calendar and I know we have a great membership who want to get out and drive there cars etc.

Apologies if it's not the view of the members.

Hi Anthony

There is a Facebook page members can like and share photos/posts on the community tab.

Search for Porsche Club GB - Milton Keynes and Northants. I don’t think it’s the same as R9, for example. Theirs is a private group with identified moderators who manage it.

We’re looking forward to a little more normality, and a few more events.

Good to see you today at the 997 register meet at RPM.

Best wishes
Sue

Hey, agree with everything you have said mate, I have wanted to look at social media for a while now but no progress so far.
it would make a great addition to the region and a way to communicate with more members

The Facebook page might be better as a group rather than a Community Page because the community page puts any pages as visitor posts which can be easy to miss. Groups can have members and general conversations with Admins and Moderators to monitor what's said, plus you can have notifications of new posts. I don't know if it is easy, or even possible, to convert from one to the other.
