Fitting aftermarket remote central locking

I would like to fit a remote central locking kit to my 944s and wonder if anybody has experience of this please?
I've read some basic articles saying that I can use the existing central locking motors and I can wire into the system straight at the existing control unit?
Any advice and or wiring diagram would be very helpful many thanks

Yes you can mate. You can tie into the lock/unlock wires at the unit under the steering column. You just need to get the pulses either positive or negative correct. My alarm is tied in here. Unlocks and locks with the alarm.

Hi Rob,I have a kit that consists of the remote control unit,2 remotes, wirinf and 2 door locking motors. To fit remote centre locking,do I still have to fit the new door motors or can I use the old ones that are fitted and as a long shot do you knw which wires I would connect to on the existing kit please?

To be honest I don't know how your aftermarket kit works so difficult to say. I would need to dig out the drawings to check the wiring.

If your car doesn't have central locking then yes, you'll need to fit the motors. If the car does have centrsl locking you don't need the kit, just an alarm that can connect to the car's central locking system.
I can't recall if all 944's have central locking or not, the turbo's do.

Im wondering if I remove the locking control unit under the steering column and then wire up the remote kit control unit, connecting to the existing locking motors rather than using the new motors.Alspo I wonder if I will be making any problems by doing so?
My aim is to be able to have remote locking rather than using the key.

You don't need to remove it, just tee into the lock and unlock wires. The locks Don't care where they get the pulse from, as long as they get a pulse. It is trial and error because systems use positive pulse, and some negative. Most aftermarket alarms are equipped for both though.

So just to clarify Rob,Id fit my new control unit and wire wise...
1.I would wire a seperate live and a neutral to my new control unit
2.Left side door actuator wires and right side door actuator wires connect to the relevant porsche control unit wiring.
sorry for all of the questions!

In a nutshell yes mate. I could perhaps find the wires but not till the weekend. My diagrams are buried in the garage.
