september new drive out

Good Morning
A bit short notice ,


Our weekend away to Northumberland had to be cancelled owing to the venue being overbooked with weddings.
To ensure not all was lost a full day ‘drive-out’ to North Yorkshire and its?Moors?will give?all a chance to see the?wildlife and colourful heather.??Hopefully the weather will be with us too.


Here is the road, everybody is welcome


R4 Club Day out to North Yorkshire. 11th September

Start point: - Porsche Centre, Hull, HU13 0GW (access to site and showroom is 08.15am)

We suggest leaving in groups, with max of four cars in each group. (Discuss in your group what you plan to do, contact numbers etc.). Please leave with five-minute intervals between groups.
If you wish to set-off later, we will see you at one of the stop-off points on route.

We have no set carparks or eateries; various locations have plenty of different facilities available.


Note: Many of the roads we will be travelling on are narrow and frequently used by speeding motorcyclists. Please use extreme caution

09.00 Drive start, Rt turn from Porsche centre.

(All distances are approximate)


First left off roundabout onto A164 to Beverley

9 miles turn left onto A1079 to York

2.5 miles roundabout second turn onto A1035 Bridlington

1 mile turn left B1248

7 miles turn right A614

1 mile roundabout second turn B1248 Wetwang

6 miles, turn left A166. Wetwang, (Popular spot for Fish and Chips on the way home)

1 mile turn right B1248 to Malton.

10 miles. (Possible stop at Malton for coffee/comfort break?).

B1257 to Helmsley 15 miles (Retail therapy and lunch?) Car parks are well signed (a good spot to meet-up).

After lunch/break, follow B1257 12 miles, various viewpoints on route turn right onto unclassified road 3miles after Chop Gate to Ingleby Greenhow, Battersby, Kildale, Commondale turn right to Castleton, Westerdale. (Narrow roads)

Continue to, The Lion (Public House/Hotel), (Afternoon tea?), Blakey Ridge, Ralph Cross then Hutton le Hole. Various views on the way.

8 miles Kirkbymoorside to A170 turn left

6 miles Pickering turn right A169 Malton

8 miles Malton Retrace steps to Beverley, Hull/Humber Bridge.









And to continue enjoying September, we will taste a nice fish and chips at Caistor Market

Pish and Fips Drive, 21st September

Our drive definitely has a means to an end - A fish and Chip Supper

We start at Lincolnshire Showground entrance car park at the side of A15. Leaving at 18.00.
The drive will explore villages along the ‘Lincolnshire Edge’ and make its way through various hamlets to end up in Caistor marketplace at ‘Micks Fish Shop’.

Orders for fish and chips will be taken at the start of the drive and should be ready for collection at 19.00. Don’t forget to bring your own seats and waterproofs, if needed!


The Drive (all mileages are approximate. Some major roads cross out route, be aware)


From the showground turn left onto A15, 400 yds

Roundabout, first exit A1500 to Sturton by Stow, 9 miles

Sturton by Stow, turn right B1241, 2.5 miles

Stow turn right to Ingham, 2.5 miles

Junction straight ahead onto B1398, 6 miles

Roundabout 2nd turning to Kirton-in-Lindsey, B1398, 4 miles

Turn right onto B1205, 1.5 miles, A15 turn right 50yds

Turn left Waddingham B1205, 9.5 miles

Nettleton, turn left A46, 1 mile

Turn left to Caistor ¼ mile

Marketplace and @Mick Fish and Chips’ on the right !
