The PDK gear box has always had a slight clunk changing from 1st to 2nd gear (automatic mode) , especially when cold. However, it has now started been very clunky in reverse; it seems to take a long time to engage and then thuds into gear and the car moves off quite abruptly. Cheers Hi Phil, I have a 2016MY Macan Diesel S and I experienced issues with my gearbox changes. I got a clunk when changing up through the first 3 gears. Didn't really affect the driving but I booked it in to my local OPC for checking. I was told there would be a £180 diagnostic bill but if it proved to be a warranty claim that would be paid by Porsche. After reading several internet postings I expected it would be a fault with the transfer box and several posts explained that they had the transfer box exchanged under warranty. My concern was that my Macan was out of warranty. However the OPC did confirm it was the transfer box and it was covered by a 7 year warranty. Very strange length of time unless you don't want to issue a general recall on all Macans and only fix ones that develop a fault (within a 7 year period). In UK law I don't think you can sue on something that happened more than six years previously, ie the fitment of, what turns out to be, a defective part. I realise this is a well known problem on older cars, but I am thinking of changing to a newer model Macan. Is the transfer box still a potential problem on these newer models? Cheers Quote Reply #8
