924s Carbon canister upgrade

Hi all,
Has anyone recently fitted a new OEM carbon filter to their 924s ? The original part number has been superseded which in turn makes use of a later (younger) filter design but isn’t identical to the one I removed. the new one has a ‘luft’ (air) port at the bottom. I’m assuming this just draws in or emits air but wanted to be sure I’m not missing something ? Any intel appreciated and a big hello from a new 924s custodian !

(I’m also aware that some may say remove the lot but I want to keep it as stock as possible and try to offset my size 10 carbon footprint
