gts winter wheels

hi all,

I'm giving some serious thought to changing my 991 for a 992 gts - however I use my 991 in winter and have a set of winter wheels for it. And the 992 GTS doesn't have a centre-lock winter wheel option - if i want winters I have to switch to bolted wheels. That is possible of course - but technically I can get a second set of summers and put winter rubber on them and thats sorted. But it not being on the option list makes me wonder why? Any ideas? What's the collective view of winter wheels on 992 GTS ? are you using bolted wheels or centre-locks or just garaging them over winter?

p.s. I'm not in the frozen north but do get quite a bit of snow and ice around here in hard winters and definitely notice the benefit of winter rubber in those few months so would like to keep using winters.

thanks

richard

I am also looking to book a slot for a GTS.
My issue is whether to go for wheel bolts on the options. Centre locks can be a pain in the event of punctures/tyre swops unless you
are prepared to always use OPC's. I know wrench bars are available but without a garage or the know how its hardly realistic
My OPC sees speccing centre locks as essential for re-sale, however the idea of going for options which you want seems more the point

thanks, that makes sense - if I wasn't needing winters I'd take the centre locks - but I want winters, so hmmm......
also get the issue with tyre swaps if not near an OPC - I'm not finding a lot to like about centre locks so far.
so the question is, is there anyone with a GTS that uses it in winter - and what do you do about winter rubber?
