Hi everyone. I'm after some advice, please. I discovered a lot of water in the Porsche footwell on the driver side and behind the driver's seat. Everything above the footwell is bone dry. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it? Could it be blocked drains and if yes, where would I find them?

Thanks very much in advance,

Kai

The most likely culprit is a blocked drain in the front compartment to the sides of the battery. The area can fill with water, and spill over into the footwell. Alternatively, it may be a roof drain. The door membranes can also leak, but you would have wet carpet on the sill.

The diagram shows the drain locations for the coupe:

Oops! I just realised you have a cabriolet, in which case it is more likely to be the rear drain that is blocked. The drain exits into the rear wheel arch (3) and is common to get blocked, I seem to recall it is behind the wheel arch liner, but if you do a search here I think someone took a photo.

The drain holes to the side of the battery are fine so I suspect it's the roof drainage. Now to find where the drain holes for the soft top are. I'll see if I can find info on that on the Net but if anyone here can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful!

Sorry Richard, I hadn't refreshed the page so didn't see your 2nd comment. That's exactly what I needed. Thanks again.

i ha e same car (cabriolet) there two lots of rear drain holes under the hood rear panel but there are also another set behind rear speakers , recently done mine and both these behind the rear speakers were blocked as they tend to get forgotten about so rarely cleared as many just do the ones under the hood , and its the rear speaker location ones that can wet/dampen the carpets under the seats too !
