My 992 GT3 was ordered 11th May, completed production 25th August, arrived OPC 15th September but with only 1 key and a Macan handbook, collected 1st October. Mine is a MY22 car so it has the very latest PCM which is the same as fitted to Taycan and now 992s from July build. The paper handbook is not yet available and the Macan handbook was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard so I now have a temporary handbook for a MY21 992 GT3 which is different primarily for the PCM but also some subtle changes elsewhere. The PCM e-handbook systems descriptions do however match with the car's PCM menu.
There are some bugs in the PCM and vehicle electronic systems so it follows the  typical launch by Porsche of a new model (in this example  it's the new PCM) without fully debugging the system software.
The new PCM 6 is quite different to the previous version which would be what is in any 992 produced before July 2021, so finally Porsche have got a  voice control system which works brilliantly even with the higher ambient noise level in the GT3 and so a lot of what would have been done using the touch screen can now be done through voice activation, result more time to concentrate on the drive without having to faff about with the touch screen. Read all about it here. https://newsroom.porsche....ack-my-life-24811.html

Congratulations Adrian. Lucky you. What colour is it. PCM 6 sounds good.

Looking forward to see it it in the flesh.

Hugh, it is Shark Blue and PCM 6 is very good, I've experienced them all from PCM 3.1 to PCM 4 in 991, then PCM 5 in Macan.2 and the preceding PCM to the current version 6 in the Cayenne Turbo S E Hybrid, this one in my GT3 is the best so far with integrated Apple Music, Internet Radio, Wireless car play, Voice Pilot, it's just so easy to use.

Now: 992 GT3, 718 Boxster
Then: 2013 Carrera C2, 2014 991 C2 GTS, 2016 Macan GTS, 2016 Carrera 991.2 C4S, 2017 991.2 Carrera C4 GTS, 2018 Macan 2 Litre, 2019 Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe

Lovely colour shark blue. On the PCM I have on this one it has wireless car play over 5G. I use CarPlay quite a bit with TomTom go, but still not on full screen. Does PCM 6 have full screen apple CarPlay.

Yes the Wireless Car Play will use the full width of the display. One thing I have found is that on the previous PCMs it was possible to use an external SIM or a data connection via a tethered smart phone instead of the internal SIM, that capability has been removed in the latest PCM 6. So once the Connect Subscription expires after 3 years then everything goes including maps updates. I suspect the PCM 6 renewal subscription will be more expensive.

I have ordered my 911 (C2) in May, with a build slot in September and delivery in October/November.
It is my fist 911 so I had no idea how things work really. The dealer told me that I had plenty of time to change my initial confirmation and I honestly though that someone would have told me (maybe called me?) to inform when the build was about to lock. Well…it didn’t happen and they submitted a build that was not entirely what I wanted (matrix led missing, for example). In august! I really though I had more time….
I decided to carry on with this car even if I’m extremely upset, especially for the matrix LED, which I won’t be able to replace.

After that, no updates from the dealer, and only after asking they told me that the car has been completed on the 11th October and should be delivered by the end of the month.

Anyone else waiting delivery by the end of October?

My dealer kept me informed even rang me a week before i had to lockdown my exact specification in June for a July build.  They informed me at start of August i would not get my Sept 1st delivery and i finally received the car on Oct 12th.  Could not be more satisfied with my Porsche Dealer.

Just for information, I ordered my 992 Turbo on 19th June 2021 and still no idea of when it will arrive.  Dealer has not yet had their 2022 allocation, but let's hope being number three on the list means something.  Just tired of waiting already!

I ordered my C2S in July, after selling my 991.1, and was told that my delivery slot would be sometime in March 2022.
My dealer has been excellent regarding updates (not that they get many) and has gone one step further by offering me a December delivery slot left vacant after a customer decided they couldn’t wait for a new build so bought a used 992 instead.
I have, of course, accepted the offer and locked my spec down on Monday - roll on December and fingers crossed for a few nice days.

That's lucky, hopefully in time to put the car near the Xmas tree! :)

I get the impression that the dealers are given very little information and don't know much more than we do.

I hope it shows progress soon Nick. I agree the dealers know very little and vary enormously in their helpfulness or otherwise

Hi Bob, without much prior warning, the car appeared on a transporter at the OPC and we collected on 25th October.  Two keys and Tracker fobs but no Owners Handbook or Guarantee and Maintenance book, though for the latter we do have the black VIN sticker. Absent the owners manual, there is a certain amount of trial and error to see if systems are attached and working but at least its not blighted with PCM6 so most important functions are reasonably intuitive.

I hope you get some good news soon.

Pleased to report that after what seemed to be a long wait the car is now here. Judging by other comments it seems I have been unlucky with the delay but if you are considering ordering a new car you may want to allow plenty of time and be flexible on the delivery date. First impressions are very favourable. My last 911 was a 991 GT3 and things have moved on a lot since then in terms of the interior PCM etc. This my first 911 that I have allowed my management team to spec as up to now I always wanted to drive around like my pants were on fire in the sportiest car possible. I am pleased to report that she drove it on delivery day and got out with a big smile so that helps. The only part missing was the spare key

Have had a deposit down for another Turbo S since August with the view of trading my current one in when it was approx a year old. Dealer has called me today and they have a build spot available for me in Feb 2022, for March delivery.

They are keen to have my current Turbo S back into stock so I think this has helped me getting a slot quickly. Is a bit quicker than expected as I was punting for June/July 2022 but given the current second hand car prices I am reassured my current car will be worth pretty much what I paid for it (or a bit more) by the time the new one arrives. The aim would be to keep the new one much longer and I've now been able to tick the spec boxes I wished I had the first time around!

Does anyone know if all new 911's are now being delivered with the updated PCM?

That's great news Lem, it's amazing how they can pull things out the hat sometimes, remember my dealer telling me when I placed my GTS order back in July that for a Turbo S it was a 2 year lead time!

My understanding is all new 911's being delivered now come with the PCM6.0.
