Spare tyre for a Boxster 986

Hi Charles, sorry to be obvious but it would be useful if you detailed exactly what the size and all the other relevant spec details are for the tyre you are looking to replace.

Good morning, does anyone know where I can source a spare tyre for a 986 space saver wheel? Mine is shredded and all the local suppliers don’t stock that size. I have asked my local main dealer and they only sell the tyre with the wheel (£500!)
many thanks again.
Charles.

Oddly enough Charles, although I’ve seen plenty of space saver wheels (with tyres) for sale on sites like eBay I don’t recall having seen just the tyre for sale.

Maybe you should approach a local tyre supplier to ask if something’s available in that size?

Jeff

Thank you so much for your research. It’s quite surprising that this is so difficult. I can at least now source a tyre!

with regards,

Charles.

Yes, ridiculously cheap Brian. And if you buy 2 you receive a £30 eVoucher! It’s almost worth doing that and selling the other one on eBay for £30. [;)]

Jeff

Thank you so much for this. Tyre ordered and on its way. I will report back when it’s fitted and hopefully someone else will be able to use the same company. It has to be the bargain of the year!

with regards,

Charles.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I was wondering how you got on with the replacement tyre?

From checking mine, I see its a T105/95 r17, but the closest that seems to be available now is a slightly wider 115 profile tyre. Is this what you went with for the replacement, & if so does it still fit in the frunk space?
