Oulton Park's signature Historic Gold Cup returns for a glorious showcase of motorsport nostalgia, starring cars from the '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s, for three days across the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The event which will be taking place on Saturday 28th August through to Monday 30th August will hark back to a truly golden period for the circuit, when internationally renowned superstars like Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, and Jackie Stewart frequently descended upon the picturesque Cheshire circuit to compete for the prestigious prize.

The event has reimagined itself in recent years as a celebration of those days, with classic single-seaters, GTs, sports cars, and touring cars on track in honour of that heritage. It's a popular social event too, with one of the biggest classic car club displays you'll see in the North West, alongside a themed spread of other retro attractions.

MSV have now released 200 tickets to the Club, which must be booked through the MSV website only. MSV have changed the pricing of tickets this year, so tickets vary from £5 for the Saturday to £17.50 for the whole weekend.

Whilst we recognise that this is a significant shift since previous years we are customers of MSV at this event and the charges are set by MSV. As a key participating club at this event we do still secure a 50% discount on the normal entrance fee. Despite this change in costs we do feel that the event is great value and still a worthy centrepiece for our club annual calendar.

To book a ticket you will need to register on the MSV website:
https://connect.msv.com/Account/Login
Please then go to the booking link:
https://shop.msv.com/Disp...er/OP-21-Goldcup
Once you have created an account, select Display with Club and then select Porsche Club GB from the drop-down menu.

You can then select the days you wish to attend. All prices receive a 50% discount at checkout and guarantee infield Porsche Club GB parking. You will then need to fill in your cars details and attach a picture of your Porsche. Then complete the booking. MSV will review the booking and send you an email with a link to book your tickets.

For Sunday attendees there will be a 40 Porsche parade lap at approximately 10:00am further details on how to book this will be sent out by Matt Staines in early August.

Tickets are selling quickly, so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

We hope to see you there.

Regards,

Martin

This is a great event, and even with the price rise it's still as cheap as chips. £17.50 for a weekend!

I'll be there Sunday and Monday, mostly for the Super Touring Cars [:D]

Hi Dave,

I agree with you and look forward to seeing you there, although I will only be able to make it on the Monday this year due to family commitments.

Agree good value , but last year the cost included car , driver and passenger.... Made the mistake of just booking the £17.50 ticket ( Car and driver ) then realised the other half would be upset .

Things change (especially over the last 18 months!!!) and £10 to £35 for two isn't really life changing is it? My view is that it was too cheap previously and I still think it's a bargain for three days of motorsport at a classic circuit [:D]

We usually have a well located Region 5 parking area that is easily accessible.

I hope that answers your question?

Great to see a wide range of Porsches yesterday - very much a "normal" event in every way [:D]

So, soooooo good to see the 90s era Touring Cars at my local circuit though. A proper blast from the past for me and reminded me of seeing them in action back in the day alongside my mates and a disposable BBQ :ROFLMAO:

Thank you to all of the members that joined R5 for what turned out to be another three days of exciting racing at the ever popular Gold Cup event at Oulton Park which included an R5 members parade lap on the Sunday.
Matt Staines and his committee were delighted to host more than 200 Porsche’s on our stand over the three days which included an extremely impressive display of Porsche’s this year.
