Cracking/Rattling Sunroof and Porsche refuse to honour warranty

I have a 2017 Panamera Turbo ST, it has covered 25k miles. The sunroof emits a loud crack when manoeuvring and it rattles when driving. It stuck open recently and wouldn't close. I was parked on my drive and it was a warm day so their was no damage done with water ingress and after a few hours it started to work again. The car is covered under the Porsche extended warranty which was supplied when the car was purchased from the Porsche dealer. My local Porsche dealer have told me I am not covered for the cracks and rattles and will not explore the issue until the sunroof fails again. Porsche UK have also told me the same. Can anybody give me any advice on the best course of action?

Unlike the factory warranty the extended warranty is a third party insurance policy and as such there are a significant number of exclusions [read your policy document!]. Unfortunately you’ve fallen foul of one of them and if both the dealer and Porsche UK have denied your claim there’s little you can do, although if you’ve only recently purchased the car you may be able to get a goodwill contribution to the repair from one or other of them.

Thanks Jeff, I thought as much and as a note to others make sure all your issues are fixed under the original 3 year Porsche warranty!
