981 Windscreen Marking

Hi all,
May be a strange question. I have a 2015 981 2.7. Does a factory Std (fitted when new) windscreen have a Porsche logo on it?
If so, where should I find it?

Thanks

Not a Logo option across the top of the screen... I just meant a small black porsche logo as part of the std windscreen manufacturing markings.

porsch factory fit screens are made by saint-gobain sekurit ( I think that’s how it spelt). No Porsche branding on the glass. I think it’s in the bottom corner passenger side

Why are you asking, have you got an issue with a screen you are concerned about?

When washing the car yesterday, I noticed that there was loads of very sticky black gunk emanating from the windscreen rubber surround. Almost like it had just been replaced and resealed.... I had put the car in for a 4 hour service the day before at Revolution in Leeds... wondered if it had been accidentally broken and replaced during this service visit. I have never previously noticed this black gunk coming from the surround in the past 6 years of washing my own car; and then straight after the service there is loads of the stuff, all the way around.
Then I wondered if I could tell if there had been a replacement screen fitted... which is why I was asking if the std screen had a logo of any sort. Anyway, my screen has the markings saint-gobain sekurit that Malarcy mentions above.. so perhaps it is something and nothing?

Anyone else noticed the black stuff coming out of the windscreen rubber?

Nothing amiss I would say Simon. Usually original screens [Saint-Gobain Sekurit as Paul says] are a special order, and anyway I doubt 4-hours would be sufficient time to do the service and change the screen.

Maybe what you’re seeing is a result of the very high temperatures we’ve had recently softening the sealing compound?

I think a brand new screen would be evident by the total lack of small battle scars etc.

I have a very vague memory of something similar being reported a couple of years back on boxa.net

perhaps worth a call the you local OPC to see if they have any tech bulletins regarding the bonding or seals.

That describes it exactly... though out of warranty by just over a year so doubt that will happen...

Thank you Malarcy
