Door sill components fitting order?

Hi everyone

So I've just had a new set of carpets fitted to my car, and now need to install the new door sill plate components but am struggling a little with the order

From this photo of the parts you can see the order is 1, 3, 4, 6 then 7 which I have annotated on this photo (someone else's car) but the bit I'm really struggling with where to place is part 4 as you can't see that in any of the photos?

I'm wondering if it is used to hold part 3 in place by being rotated 180 degrees and sits under the 'lip' as per the gap in this photo as part 3 has a split in the round thicker part that looks like it would 'grip' onto the lip or part 4

Maybe like this?

Also on the main mat itself (6) it has grooves all the way to the end on one side, and an area of flat on the other as per this photo - I am guessing that the flat area goes towards the car to accommodate the bottom of the rubber lip (3)?

Finally (*nearly there with the questions I promise!) on the carpet seal plate bit (1) I am guessing that the side with the overhanging lip faces out of the car and hangs over the seal part as shown in the white car photo above and as shown in the side profile of my parts below?

Many thanks for any tips and appreciate the help :)

Thanks David - great links there and I guess I couldn't find those as I didn't actually know the name of the part I was trying to find out about!

So from looking at the 356 registry photos, it looks like that part of metal fits 'inside' of the rubber seal and then is screwed in place to hold the rubber down - you can sort of see if in the test photo the author made where he had a spare strip of seal there for lining up

Does that sound correct?
