Hello all ,

my turbo made the 7 hour drive to goodwood !

I have done more miles on this trip than the car has covered in the last 25 year !

after changing the maf the car has run great !

l ran along side a D reg black 911 for around 45mins that was fab
I would love to know who you were as my car is a 87 too !

anyway who was at goodwood today and did I talk to you as its fine to put a face to who your talking too !

the car I liked best by far for me was the gray 928 GT wow it was super ?? the noise when it was running!!

I’ve enjoyed my day !

thanks all

David .

I was there, were you in 66xkk? I was next to you I think (not sure if we spoke though!). C753DYT. It was a good day with amazing weather. Track was a bit quiet and the parking was a bit weird having the 924's and 928's at the other end of the car-park rather than all together (felt a bit us and them to be honest) but aside from that lovely to see some great examples. Glad you enjoyed your day out. It's a great location and there's always something going on at the circuit.

Gutted I couldn't make it. Recent intermittent battery issues ended with it not holding a charge and needing a jump start at Northway on Saturday morning. Couldn't risk it dying at a filling station so stayed at home.

Glad some were able to make it!

Hi Phil ,

yes I do agree with you about the way we were spaced out !

and I suppose the club might have tried to have maybe put a run out somewhere after ?

i did contact my area R1 to ask if anyone was going down

he replied that he would put it on the Facebook page but never heard anymore.

sorry to here about your problems Graham ! hope your sorted again soon .

Thanks David. All sorted...recalling stuff on here about better cranking from bigger batteries, I went for a 75Ah Yuasa from Halfords. Same physical size.

Having been allowed to completely discharge twice recently, the old Bosch just would not take a charge. It WAS old....

Regards the spacing - unfortunately on the day I understand there were c 100 no shows compared to the bookings and therefore what was a reasonable advance parking strategy to keep the cars for each register grouped together and fill towards the centre , understandably looked a bit sparse as the day progressed. That said from what I saw it didn’t stop those who did attend having a good natter and a look around the cars.

Stephen (one of 3 panamera‘s behind the oils drums !)

Stephen,

100 no shows

shame on them !

As I said before I certainly enjoyed my day 👍🏻 everyone was very friendly .

I drove down from near St. Andrews Scotland to attend stopping in and Mr Clarksons farm shop on the way .

It would be great if we could have a transaxle day up here in Scotland !

would love to know if the owner of the black D reg 911 that I ran along side for around an hour is a member?

David.

We spoke with the Goodwood Chief Marshal who had located us in the car park where we were well spaced out. He said that if he had known what our numbers attending were going to be, he would have put us in the Paddock where we would have all been under cover, on the hottest day of the year. Perhaps we should have used the wide open space in the car park for an Autotest?

Our weekend was enjoyable as we had stayed for two nights in Felpham right on the beach and the drive home on Monday was superb with little traffic.
