Problem with P.C.C.M. Plus and On Board Computer 2

Hello please could I ask if any fellow 996 or 986 owners are experiencing the same issue with their recently fitted PCCM Plus unit.
Namely the On Board Computer keeping re setting it's self. Mine does this after approximately every 70 elapsed miles. The trip odometer, average MPG and the average speed are effected in this way. The outside temperature and the remaining fuel range functions are working perfectly.
Porsche have failed to diagnose the problem. To make matters worse they are also saying that there isn't an issue. They are also saying that there isn't a link between the On Board Computer and the PCCM unit.
I can provide much more information if required.
However at this point I just need some reassurance that I'm not alone out there and that this is a real issue. To date I can only find one other owner world wide with the same issue (North America Rennlist forum)

Thank you in anticipation Phil

Hi Phil. I installed a PCCM Plus unit myself to my 1998 Boxster and have not experienced the issues that you are experiencing. Everything works fine. From the installation I did not see any connection between the 2 systems. I would suggest an inspection of the OBC switch on the stalk whereby vibration may be triggering a fault at the switch generating the reset mode. Another check would be to look at the wiring at the OBC however I cannot help there as I have no idea where it is located in the car! Anyone else know, could it be under a seat and has suffered water ingress (blocked drain lines?). If you need any help with accessing the OBC switch let me know and I can provide some info.

Hi Mel Thanks for your contribution to the debate.
Could I ask you if your vehicle is MOST equipped. It seems the majority of problems are occurring in MOST equipped cars.
I've considered that the fault may come from the stalk. However there are two factors that I think would count against this. Firstly I and others have experienced the re set to zero fault whilst the vehicle is stationary. Secondly any fault caused by vibration would have to firstly select or bypass the reset mode then the reset all mode. Then actually perform the re set. So I'm not an expert but it seems unlikely an electrical fault could skip the various stages.
My local Porsche Centre is getting back to me on Monday the 26th as there now seems to be an update from Porsche that looks promising.
I'll update the post if/when the fault is diognosed and fixed.
Thanks Phil

Hi Phil
Apologies for the late reply, and belatedly confirm that my car is not MOST. So I do hope that you have sorted the system now.
