Battery Drain Time

Hi all.

Does anyone know the typical 'safe' standing time without trickle-charging for a 991 please?

My 2016 Turbo was too flat to start after only 9 days. That seems odd to me, given the size of the battery.

I normally trickle charge so this is the first experience. It'd forgotten to connect it this time but (it seems wrongly) had no concerns for such a short period.

If the battery is in reasonable condition it should be able to go at least 3 weeks

Unfortunately, batteries do not last forever. The accepted battery life is around 4-5 years, so if yours is original in a 2016 vehicle, then it may be failing to hold a full charge anymore and nearing the end of its useful life, in which case it will require replacement.

I would recommend you have it tested and go from there.

Regards,

Clive

Thanks gents. Good points. I forgot to mention that possibly the tracker is also using some electrons on top of the usual drain.

I'll keep an eye on it. As a worst case I see it's about £200 for a new one anyway.
