Have just booked tickets for Newby Hall. Sports cars in the park. On Sunday 1st of August. Went a few years ago and was a great day out. with a lot of different owners clubs. Was wondering if R7 would be attending.

Hi Glenn, we discussed this last night on a CoG zoom meeting.glenn duval said:
We all want to attend as many events as possible, by attending at venues that already have Covid clearance, such as this Newby Hall SCITP and the September event at Castle Howard, we can avoid some of the restrictions that have caused the cancellation of our events.
Some of us will be at the Silverstone Classic on the 1st August.
We are looking at more events so please keep an eye on the forum.
Hi Andy where have you seen Lotherton is cancelled. Tickets are still been sold on the club site.

I received an email from the club saying:
We are saddened to have to cancel this event as we know many people, including ourselves, were looking forward to the return of some normality. Nevertheless, we must abide by Government guidelines and the safety of our members and staff is paramount. The event will now be held in 2022 (date yet to be confirmed), when we hope to celebrate our 60th Anniversary in the North-East, bigger and better than ever, so we hope you will be able to join us then. Refunds for this year's event will be issued early next week. In the meantime, if you have any queries, then please do feel free to get in touch with the Clubhouse on 01608 652911 during office hours, where we will endeavour to help."

Update from organizers
Newby Hall - 1st August 2021 Hi, I hope you are all keeping well. Plans are now coming together for the 1st of August for our Newby Hall event. At worst the event will be based on 50% occupancy. We, like everyone else, are hoping for a full unlock on the 19th of July. We already have 280 display cars booked, so don't miss out! Contingency - Newby Hall Venue has a current limit of 4,000 people. We are included in that number. We will be setting a soft limit of about 1,000 people in display cars, so we are counting the number of occupants around 1.77 per car. This gives us about 600 display cars. When we get close to the cap, upgrades will be switched off and once we hit our people limit the event will be marked as sold out. If things change on the 19th July or before. We will be able to lift the limit to 1,500 max display cars. SCITP Tickets are required for the display field - Security will be checking tickets on arrival into the show field. So please get a new ticket on our website. We also use APNR on the gallery images. This has pointed out a small number of people who did not get a ticket. Entrance plan - We have used this time off to significantly improve the site plan and entrance procedure for display cars. This will include detailed instructions to get you to your designated display field. There will also be additional signs to point the way. COVID - Suitable measures will be in place to social distance. We are outside and the cars provide a good 2-meter guide. Venues have already opened with a capped attendance. Stay up to date - Our Facebook group will keep you up-to-date with all news about SCITP in 2021. This includes COVID news updates for our shows. Information about new sponsors and just general car photos and news. We also have an Instagram account with daily car pictures and videos from our events. Spread the news - Make sure your friends and car clubs know about our events. Pass this email on to potential sponsors and stands too. The more we have the more benefits we can pass on to you.
