992 rear screen

Hello.... I am a new member. I have had a Macan for two years, my first Porsche and have just bought a 2019 Carrera 911S. I love them both but the 911...I could take it to bed! I am an old guy and the 911 is my treat for my remaining days. One thing I do not like about it though is the privacy glass rear screen.... cannot believe it is legal but apparently it is...I think it is dangerous! I would like to change it to clear glass so would appreciate any help.

First of all, when sat in the driver's seat hold up a basic dressing table style vanity mirror to the windscreen. If this improves your rear view vision, it's time to take a look at your vehicle's rear view mirror. If it is an auto dimmer type, you may be able to switched off auto-dimming, if not you may need to replace it with a non-dimming type.

If this doesn't help, then a replacement rear screen will either be a new Porsche part, an aftermarket part from someone like Autoglass or second hand from ebay etc. - and is likely to be quite an expensive modification.

You're not kidding, Clive.

This guy at 4.21 sourced lightweight glass for his 991T for £7.8k off ebay!

Of course, it's not just the rear screen but two side windows too.

To the OP; there will also be some on here who want to see pictures of you in bed with your 992, but failing that, the 992 on it's own...
