981 GTS sport plus Rev matching - no longer switchable?

Was there an option to turn it off previously? I never noticed it in my manual 981 GTS. From memory there was no rev matching in Normal or Sport, but it got turned on with the Sport Plus button (in the background) along with Sport PASM.

On the 718 series with Sports Chrono rev matching was also applied in the background in Sport mode, and there was no way to turn it off as far as I know.

Which menu were/are you looking at where it was switchable?

Twinfan, trouble is I can’t remember which menu it used to be in! Definitely was there as have turned it off in past. if you had stats, fluid temps etc. view in tft dial and went into the vehicle settings menu from there I think it was there. Reviews at the time also talked about turning it off IIRC.

Hmm, maybe check the owners manual then?

I don't ever recall seeing it but it's a few years ago now that I went through all the menus after I'd picked up my car! I certainly thought rev matching was fixed with Sport Plus, but I'm happy to be corrected [:D]

Let me know if you find it, I'm curious!

A bit of web searching seems to suggest you can only turn it off if you turn PSM off i.e. Porsche Stability Management/traction control.

Is that what you've done in the past?

Yes, knew that PSM turned it off, but was convinced I’d been able to turn it off in menu. Just checked through handbook and I can’t find a mention of it, so possible I’m an idiot or dreamt it….

I think maybe I’d seen the “gear shift assist” menu and assumed you could turn it off through that ( you can’t), was convinced I had done in past.

I’ve noticed that the menu option to turn off automatic rev matching in Sport Plus has disappeared. Anyone else had this after an update? Popping to Hull on Saturday and they’re going to have a quick look, but sounds like it’s an update thing that Porsche decided they would change specified feature. Bit annoyed. Don’t use it much unless driving on my own as I’m not always the smoothest so it’s better for passenger when the car does it, but was nice to have the option. Not sure if it is related to recent gearbox replacement.
Thanks
Jono

I have decided that I am a grumpy old fogey with all these settings. You either seem to spend some considerable time adjusting everything or just end up going with the flow. I do like the fact that normal, sport and sport+ each have a reasonable mix of settings which more or less cover what I want, in most circumstances, available at the touch of a real button. On another car I use there is the option of programming your personal mix into a single button activation. It is on or off. After this point I leave well alone and I have no wish to plow through the handbook ever again.:p

Don't get me started on touch screens!

Hi jono

I was just wondering why you had a gearbox change. presume it was a PDK. I am specking my new car and was considering a PDK, but have seen a few on the forum who have needed a new box.

Regards Glenn.
