hello gents.
I'm in need of some good advice as I'm sure to find here.
All happened last Sunday (a shiny one that made me keen for a drive!).
Symptoms are very very similar to this : https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1022976
I quote :" everything absolutely normal but then as I went round a left hand corner and accelerated the engine revs went high/screamed and I lost all gears and had to coast to a stop. No warning lights, engine starts and runs okay but it just won't engage any gears including reverse and no difference on manual. The gear selection does show on dashboard but it's just as if it was in neutral or what you'd expect with a clutch depressed"
I gently pulled over on the hard shoulder, then switched between manual and automatic, 2nd gear indicator went back and I could drive again. That makes me think no mechanical damages in the gearbox, but some faulty electric part (gear selector or throttle pedal ?). Have you ever experienced the same?
thanks for sharing. I don't know where to start and honestly I'm afraid to go back on the road right now!
Pierre.

hello Richard, thanks for your reply.
the thing is : after this "episode" the car drove pretty well, gearbox doing its jobs as it should. Besides, I had a complete oil service (more than 15liters) + filter in November and did less than 1000 miles since. No oil drop on the floor, no trace of oil on the chassis either.

It was my original post you are showing but as mentioned, my car didn't drive again until the gearbox had been rebuilt so although it sounds a similar problem I doubt there is any other connection as mine was very much mechanically broken. Sounds also possible electrical to me and I wonder if a fault has been recorded on the car's computer. So that would be my first thing to get the car plugged in by a garage or anyone you know with the right equipment to read if there are any fault codes as well as Richard's idea of checking tiptronic oil level which is apparently is critical to be done properly. Good luck

I finally took an appointment July 5th at the same place gearbox service has been done last year. Yes you're right, reading the memory would be certainly where to start.
Thanks and I'll keep you informed if it's worthy to community's knowledge.
Cheers,
Pierre.

hello,
as promised, here I come again. The car is just back from an indy which is specialized in automatic gearboxes.
Default codes read : only one raised saying that , at some time, the gear engaged couldn't be determined.
And that's all. Nothing faulty, oil level is correct.
I felt disappointed, but now resigned to drive and forget.
Besides it never occurred again since then...and some hundred miles done.

cheers,
Pierre.

Hello,
First timer here, I’ve read a lot of the posts in the forum and find them very useful, so now my share.
I also have C2 tip and had what sounds similar event as yours on a track night at Knockhill. I entered the hairpin in 2nd and floored it on exit then a big clunk, that all in the pits heard. I limped to the paddock area for inspection ( nothing) a local Porsche race car Indy suggested the car might be low on gearbox oil and the box quick shifting under pressure for 1st gear. I carried on the rest of the session using the buttons and not 1st gear. No problem all night the Indy was booked for a service and found low gearbox oil. Since then no problems 2k miles later.

Hello Kevin, thanks for sharing, and apologizes for this very late answer. this tiptronic gearbox is actually more than IMS bearing the weakness of our beloved cars. However, mine is still running pretty well after checking.
How did it go with yours later on ?
Cheers,
Pierre.
