Can anyone recommend any machine shops near Surrey or Derbyshire.
I need my 930 heads machined and valve guides changed.
Location does not matter too much.
Many of the companies I know are not operating at present.

Found a great workshop. David Moore Engineering in Godstone Surrey.

Working on my 1983 heads, checking the valves and putting new valve guides in.

You can see at the top left where the exhaust air has been escaping.

i had my 930 engine top end rebuild by by SCS Porsche in Honiton (Devon). They use a very good machine shop. It would be worth giving them a call if you are stuck. These guys are excellent and did a fantastic job doing a top end rebuild on my engine. Speak to Andy or Stuart.
Cheers

I can't recommend SCS Porsche and Andy in Honiton (Devon) enough, they took on the re build of my engine after another mob which name I can't share did an absolutely terrible job on, more leaks than a sieve!

SCS a pleasure to do with business with, and still running well sweat since 2017, I must book up for a service soon.

Book your car in and have a night in the Masons Arms Branscombe, ask Any nicely and he will even lend you a car to go there.

regards

Kev

I’d endorse that - on both counts

Hi Hermes, David Moore did a great job doing my 930 heads. He used his own valve guides and machined each one to each of my valves. He is a Ferrari trained Engineer. The engine is back in the car now and runs great.
