Newly Appointed Assistant Register Secretary

I am delighted to let you know that Register member Tim Rice has volunteered to become the Assistant Register Secretary. Here Tim introduces himself with the following:

I am a semi retired resident of the Cotswolds, having spent a career in aerospace engineering. My Porsche interest started many years ago with a G series 911, and migrated to the 992 through a 944, two 964s (one written off!), a Cayman S, Macan and 991.

The 992 came late in 2019 after a factory visit, with the intention of further trips to Europe. COVID has prevented anything other than a WW2 themed trip to Bremerhaven and Peenemunde last year. I have been challenged by some of the car’s technology (e.g. PCM, Battery charging, Comfort Access), so hope that we can learn and spread the knowledge across the community.

I am sure that together we can build up the Register with everyone's help too.

Please welcome Tim, I am sure he will be along soon to say Hi.

Hi Tim,

Congratulations and a big thank you for taking on the Asst 992 Register RO. I look forward to getting to actually meet you all as soon as we can back out there once more.

Until then, perhaps the next Zoom will be our first opportunity.

Kind Regards David

Congratulations for taking over the position Tim. Looking forward to meet you

Thank you all. I look forward to meeting you in due course, potentially in real life too.

Peter and I have been talking about things we might do to support the Register, and all ideas are welcome.

All the best,
Tim

[strike][/strike]Congratulations Tim, welcome to the world of Register Assistant, a word of warning though, don't let the Register Secretary give you too much work to do, they can be like that ! Sorry Peter only joking.
I am interested in your trip to Peenemunde to see the V2 works, or what's left of it after we bombed the hell out of it. Perhaps a short write up in PP?

Robin,
Thank you (and for the warning!). Peenemunde was interesting, but could I keep a report brief enough, (or the one to Colditz/StalagLuft 3)?
Tim

Hi Tim
I have recently joined the register after acquiring a 992S.Enjoy the car but hope to gain more understanding of various connectivity issues!

Thank you all. I look forward to meeting you in due course, potentially in real life too.

Peter and I have been talking about things we might do to support the Register, and all ideas are welcome.

All the best,
Tim
Hi Tim, I enjoyed reading your article about fitting in 22 Alpine passes in a few days! Are you able to share the route?

Thanks,
Ray
