Mine didn't hang around in Emden for more than a day or so - hopefully you're in the same position Glenn. I can't imagine Porsche want cars held up anywhere given the cashflow impact.

I am sticking to 3,000 rpm for the first 500 miles then I will go to 4,000 for the next 500 ensuring I don't labour the engine then start to stretch her after an oil change at 1,000 miles.
However I just can't get over even just using 3,000 rpm how awesome this engine is, so much low down grunt and I really like the sound it makes even on light throttle.
My neighbour who is a 911 man, reckons the sound is far closer to his 911 which is not a bad thing.

Yes £350 from my OPC for oil and filter with my discount or £250 from my Porsche Indi.
My understanding is that during the manufacturers warranty period, servicing can be done by any VAT registered garage as long as Porsche parts are fitted, unlike the extended warranty that locks you into OPCs. However as this is an oil change outside of the recommended service times, I wonder if that could have any repercussions if it wasn't done by my OPC, who have said changing the oil after the first 1k is a good thing🤔

Well they would of course as they are earning🤣 my Indi also would but anyway this is a long term keeper and it is a small cost either way.

JurassicGTS ...  as this is an engine oil change outside of the recommended service times, I wonder if that could have any repercussions if it wasn't done by my OPC ...

Who`s to know ... if you don`t broadcast it and don`t tell the OPC

What about the gearbox and transmission then, I assume that the same criteria would / should apply to the keeper principle ?

I support what BMW do for their M models, engine and differential oil changes at 1200 miles

Definitely moving toward my Indi, particularly as my OPC seems to have no ability to ring me back to book, even after 3 phone calls to them and I am one of their relationship contacts for PCGB😡
I will just keep the invoice for future reference rather than the stamp in the book.

Who`s to know ... if you don`t broadcast it and don`t tell the OPC

Doesn't the OBC data logger record the "resetting" of the "oil level" or terminology to that effect as this requires the use of the Porsche software?

I asked about the cost of an oil change when my 718 Spyder was recovered for what I thought was just a jammed starter motor at 1800 miles, as I'm of the old school regarding running in and oil change, and was quoted about £450 for just oil and filter whilst it was on the ramps.

The lesson I learned was "be careful what you wish for" as I did get new oil for free BUT it was inside a new replacement engine as it wasn't the starter......................

Hmmm!
I didn't know that, I will check with my Indi, he is ex my OPC, one of the best technicians they had and set up on his own as so frustrated with how they operated.
Regardless my understanding is you can have any work done by a VAT registered garage and it won't affect warranty.
