The problem:

Having opened the driver's door window (not an issue with the passenger side) I go to close it and twice it goes to the top and comes back down halfway. Third time it stops, closed, correctly.

I thought I'd try the tech expert (Clive) and found this thread, tried it, but to no avail.

WTF is going on and how do I fix it?

TIA

Sounds like the glass is meeting some resistance the first couple of times you try to close it and then overcomes on the third try. It thinks you've got your fingers in the way and doesn't want to chop them off! [:)]

You could try cleaning everything up including the edges of the glass and running a pipe cleaner or something down the channels to try and free up any possible obstruction.

Other than that, you may need to remove the door card to check the runner mechanism and all the electrical connections.

Regards,

Clive
