Boot badge colour from factory for 986 S 2001

Is there any way to verify what the car boot badge colour would have been fresh from the factory?
I have a 986 2001 Boxster S and the boot badge is silver Boxster and silver S.
Receltly I had the boot resprayed to remove some deep scratches I can only assumed came from a frightened cat ( or tiger from the depth) some time in the car's past.
When the boot was resprayed the painter replaced the boot badge.
He said that when he gave the VIN number to Porsche spares department the chap asked whether he wanted the silver one or the black one the car had from the factory.
Intersting!
I'm in the process of reverting my car's lights and other things back to factory spec and the boot badge is next to look at.
Is there any way to verify if a Boxster S 986 2001 should have a silver boot badge to match the Arctic Silver paintwork, in my case, or a black badge as the parts guy implied?
Someone else mentioned that the Boxster badge in 2001 was Black and the Boxster S was silver.
Any way to verify this?
Yours hopefully,
Steve

My seal grey 2001 Boxster S has a silver badge and I believe it's correct to say that as standard, all S badges were silver and all Boxster 2.7's had black badges. Whether they were available in alternative colours or not, I can't say for sure, but I don't think they were

Standard Boxster 2.5 & 2.7 had a black "Boxster" badge, the 3.2 had Titanium "Boxster S" badges, you cant get a black "S" for a 986 so your parts guy is a little confused (the 091 cars had "Boxster S" in chrome)

The 986 550 Spyder had a Chrome badge
Plus you can or used to be able to buy a Chrome Boxster badge years ago. We replaced a 1997 Boxster badge to chrome when we did a few mods .
So maybe some have done the same.

This. My 2000MY S had a titanium coloured badge - in those olden times Porsche had yet to discover the money making possibilities of badge colours. I certainly don’t recall it as an option.

Thank you T911UK and all others.
Problem resolved.
You can't get a black badge for a 986 2001 Boxster S.
It was Titanium from factory.
Regards,
Steve
