Is there any way to verify what the car boot badge colour would have been fresh from the factory?
I have a 986 2001 Boxster S and the boot badge is silver Boxster and silver S.
Receltly I had the boot resprayed to remove some deep scratches I can only assumed came from a frightened cat ( or tiger from the depth) some time in the car's past.
When the boot was resprayed the painter replaced the boot badge.
He said that when he gave the VIN number to Porsche spares department the chap asked whether he wanted the silver one or the black one the car had from the factory.
Intersting!
I'm in the process of reverting my car's lights and other things back to factory spec and the boot badge is next to look at.
Is there any way to verify if a Boxster S 986 2001 should have a silver boot badge to match the Arctic Silver paintwork, in my case, or a black badge as the parts guy implied?
Someone else mentioned that the Boxster badge in 2001 was Black and the Boxster S was silver.
Any way to verify this?
Yours hopefully,
Steve
