Please help me find a new rattle!

After the fantastic help finding the 'vent rattle' on here that was the tray in the bonnet rattling, I now have another.

Sounds as though it is coming from around the seatbelt area over my right shoulder.

I have eliminated the storage compartment, but nothing else seems to resonate on tapping, but is set off on some poor road surfaces.

Limited skills in removing trim, is there a guide to doing so, and is it something simple - I tend to end up either breaking plastics or cutting myself with car interiors!

Thanks

Matt

I read you title and immediately thought that I have a few that I could give you!

Most of the trim is easy enough to pull off. The one surrounding the seatbelt lifts up vertically, but a set of trim tools from eBay would probably be a good investment. A 'heavy' rattle could well be the rear hatch which every Cayman seems to suffer from at some time in its life. Typically this shows itself at low ambient temperatures and goes away when things warm up. Try a couple of anti clockwise turns on the rear hatch bump stops to see if that makes any difference.

Hi John,

Thanks for the pointers, will give them a go - them seem impossible to reach when driving & don't make the noise when stationary obviously!

Will get some tools ordered & hope it goes smoothly.

Matt
