Covid permitting, Region 5 will be hosting our first event of 2021 at the Gawsworth Hall Youngtimer Show for the first time this coming late May Bank Holiday Monday.

Priority will be given to new members and 25 spaces will be held for Porsche Boxster owners to celebrate the 25th Anniversary. Tickets will be limited to 75 cars in total.

Celebrating cherished classics from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, although given our relationship with Rupert and his family, the owners of Gawsworth, all Porsche’s will be welcome to attend. The show opens at 10.00am with a static display and informal concours within the walled Elizabethan pleasure gardens.

The Youngtimer Show has over recent years developed a loyal following, with a unique garden party atmosphere, and we do hope you will be able to join us once again for our first post-Covid motoring event.

Please note that this event has now sold out and we hope to see you at one of our other forthcoming events soon.

In the meantime, please contact Matt Staines our RO if you would like to be added to the reserve list for this event at: r5@porscheclubgb.com

Sounds great - I’d like to add my Boxster Spyder to the 25th Anniversary display please! If there’a space, I’ll even drag the Speedster along as well!

Hi Graham,

I believe that Matt Staines will be sending out an email this week, which will include the registration and application details. I understand that there are going to be 75 spaces of which 25 will be reserved for a special Boxster display to celebrate the 25th Anniversary.

I hope to see you there.

Yours,

Martin

Just booked via the main web site. Let’s hope for good weather and an excellent day out.

Hi Mike,

I hope that all is well and look forward to catching up with you at Gawsworth.

Looking better now that I had the Macan gearbox fixed. Stockport OPC did the work under warranty which Porsche have extended to 7 years for the transfer box.

Application to park my 718S in the display has been accepted and tickets have been booked.

Looking forward to attending something (anything) for the first time in ages.

We are looking forward to welcoming those of you that that were lucky enough to get tickets for today’s Young timer show at Gawsworth today.

Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 restrictions we won’t be able to provide any refreshments or seating in the R5 area this year, so don’t forget to bring your pic-nic, chairs / pic-nic blanket and some sun cream, for once the forecast is good. 🤞

Matt Staines and his Regional Organisers will hopefully be easy to identify in their matching black R5 t shirts. So do please come and say hello or approach any of us if you have any questions or queries.

Thank you to the 142 club members that came to the Gawsworth Hall Youngtimer Show on Monday. It was the the first show with our RO Matt Staines and his new committee team who worked hard to pull this show together in these challenging times.

It was fantastic to catch up with so many old R5 friends in person once again as well as a considerable number of new members, many of whom had never been to a Porsche Club GB event before!

Matt and his committee were the first region in the country to get the new style black club shirts so we are now easy to spot at future events! Jon K will be on brand with his shirt next time!

Thanks to all for making this happen and sorry to those of you that missed out on this occasion due to the limited numbers set by the venue.

Finally, Special thanks to Mrs D for helping the committee team to disassemble the marquee and load all of the equipment into the trailer. Also to Phil Graham for getting all of the equipment on site for us and collecting it again afterwards, it was very much appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you and your fabulous Porsche‘s again soon.

Martin
