Hi,

Apologies in advance if this has been asked before and/if this is in the wrong section but can someone tell me what the lower sensor does in the attached photo, please? I've looked through the user manual but after a quick look I can't find anything.

Should it have a cover on it?

Thank you

Simon

It should have a cover. I have tried to upload a photo to show but I cannot get it small enough in memory size to allow attaching. It covers fixing access.

Thank you. Oh ok. I've had the car from new about a month I suppose. Never had a cover on it. The thing behind it is getting nicely covered in road grunge. What does the sensor do?

Thanks,

Simon

It is a radar for cruise control and optional extras like adaptive cruise control and Innodrive.

Regards
Keith

I don't think that is for Innodrive, I think that is an Infrared sensor. Do you have the night view assist option?

But yes there should be a little cover over the hole but not the sensor.

Thank you. Yes I do have the night vision option. It works well but Innodrive is duff as a dodo or is that dead as one? Anyway it's broke. I'll start another post to ask anyone if they know why. Ok, boring but I'm not having any luck.

Thanks,

Simon

The sensor in your photo is for the night vision camera. The odd square hole is were a plate/cover of some kind has fallen off. Speak to your OPC they will order you a new one.

I'm gutted the Innodrive drive is so poor, I would have added it to my build if it had been available when I ordered my car last year. I have advanced cruise which is actually what I expected and works well. Just wish I knew you only get the speed display in the drivers binnacle if you ordered the lane keep assist.... Bit of an odd decision by Porsche.
