David is a Director of the Retro Barne classic vehicle restoration centre in Nottingham and Rally Driver for Volkswagen Motorsport. He has worked at Head Office level within the automotive Industry for the past 16 years.
In 2006 he was bitten by the racing bug thanks to an opportunity to go to the Goodwood Festival of Speed where he met WRC legend Petter Solberg. He will tell his story of how that chance meeting led to a colourful journey of highs and lows that led him to being crowned the 2019 Spirit of Goodwood winner and voted Driver of the event alongside none other than the man that inspired him at the very beginning!
