48Volts system

From the 992 register zoom event the other evening, can someone please enlighten me with the conversation we had with the rear wheel steering needing a Lithium battery due to the system being a 48V system. The Lithium battery fitted is 14Volts.

Does the voltage get stepped up to 48V?

I thought it was too but now I’m not sure it is a 48v system. I remember some info around the launch that talked about it, but I think that might be for a mild hybrid system which should arrive for the 992.2?

Thought I'd respond to this thread lest someone looks at it in the future.
Rear Wheel Steering (RWS) and I believe Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) make use of 48V. The optional equipment incorporates a localised 48V sub-system and the necessary power supplies/voltage inverters that generate 3-phase 48V outputs used by the actuators. In fact, given these are 3 phase inverters, the phase-to-phase voltage is actually 96V.

So, whilst the central energy supply/distribution system of the car remains a 12V system, there are indeed localised 48V (3-phase) systems to support certain features, if fitted.
