North-East Porsche specialist service recommendations please?

Good afternoon everyone

Have had a look through the forum and a couple of names pop up, but can anyone give me a personal recommendation for a specialist in our region please? An idea of cost for a 35k service on a 2016 981 Cayman would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Damian

Major and minor service costs are clearly set out on their website pages.

Usually at least 25%+ cheaper than a main dealer and they do very good work.

I've used them for years with great success.

Second the recommendation for D&G Motor Engineers, Porsche Specialists behind the Silverlink. Dean & Gary have serviced my Boxster since 2017, no issues with the quality of work and care taken with the car.

kind regards,

raj

Depending on where you are in the region I can highly recommend Sam Lander over in Malton;

Sam Lander Cars Unit D2, Pyramid Estate, Showfield Lane, Malton YO17 6BT

slander1983@gmail.com 01653 695706 Great attention to detail and makes a good cup of tea too!

I’ve had dealings with D&G, Tom Ferguson and Nelson Porsche over the years and different cars.

I’d wager that servicing and maintenance on something as new as a 981 is relatively straightforward so you can’t really go wrong with any of the regional Porsche Independents. As a comparison it might not be a bad idea to call Porsche Teesside too as sometimes their menu servicing can be relatively reasonable, especially if they give you some PCGB discount too.

Another shout out for Nelson Porsche in Stockton-on-Tees. I've had all my Porsches serviced there. Don't expect OPC operating theatre cleanliness, but Jamie Nelson really knows his stuff.

Hope you find what you need.

John

Morning Damien,

It seems you’ve already had some great responses to this much asked question, but I thought it was also worth mentioning the guys at Porsche Centre Teesside. Tim & the team always look after us very well and the price comparison between the dealer on items such as servicing never seems that far away. After all it's always nice to have that OPC stamp in your service book, especially if you ever decide to sell or change your car, not to mention you normally get to try some fantastic courtesy cars.

It's also worth mentioning that we have a new specialist opening in the region in February based in Bishop Auckland, County Durham. AHRS you can find more info on what services they offer here.

Greg.

Morning Greg

Many thanks for the reply. I rather assumed that all the OPCs charged a standard amount for servicing and was deterred from the Silverlink dealership by their quote, but I’ll definitely ask at Teesside. I’d much rather have the Porsche stamp in the book, so if the cost isn’t a million miles away from an independent...

Take care

Damian

Hello again - I checked this out and am glad I did. I’ve signed up for a service and MOT plan that’s costing me a lot less than I expected. I can use the Teesside or Newcastle dealers. The cost is really not that much higher than any of the independents I’ve priced, and for me at any rate, it’s worth it. So thanks again.

Damian

If you are in the south of the region:

Nelson Porsche,

Skinner Street Ceramic House,

Stockton On Tees,

TS18 1EG

01642 670766

I'd second this recommendation, Jamie Nelson is a great guy, very knowledgeable, open & honest.

Can't say I had a great experience with PC Newcastle (Silverlink). Won't be returning for service work.
