And now for something a bit, not completely, different. Zoom

Happy New Year to you all.

Would anyone be interested in a 'New Year' Zoom call on Saturday 9th January at around 6:00 pm. The idea would be to have a chat for an hour or so, with the beverage of your choice, without taking up the whole of the evening. No particular agenda, although I can make one up if necessary, but just talking about anything related to our cars, the register and the club.

If I get a couple of takers on here I will send round an invitation.

Hi John,

I have been unable to get round to scheduling the "track day" zoom we discussed but I've not got much on so would be grateful for some chat and mutual encouragement.

Ralph

I'd be happy to meet people on zoom as I've recently joined porsche club and this is my first (old) porsche cayman, so getting to know like-minded people would be good. Thanks Erica

Yes I might well be interested in joining you, especially as we are back in lockdown and can't get out so much again :-(

I was really hoping to be able to get out and meet up with my fellow Cayman owners and club members in 2020 (having bought the car in late 2019), but apart from the first meeting (I think organised by AndrewT) way back in January 2020, the pandemic put paid to that :-( So any chance to "meet up" with people online would be good!

Hi John,

Great idea, I would like to join the Zoom call if I can.

If it’s okay with you, given that not everyone looks at the forum pages, I’ll let some of the other Region 5 Cayman owners know about the Zoom call via our R5 Facebook page in case they are available to join as well.

Paul Grundy another Miami Blue Caymanite from R5 has already said that he will join the Zoom call too.

Yours,

Martin

Hi John,

I'd be up for this too, might be nice to get a bit more involved with the clubs activities, as well as some human interaction now that we are in our third lockdown. I'll see if I can get the Wifi out to the garage :)

Oli

Thank you for putting on the Zoom meeting this evening John, it was nice to meet some fellow Caymanite’s albeit virtually.

I look forward to seeing you again at the next meeting and hope that it’s not too long until we can all meet up with our cars.

In the meantime, keep safe and enjoy your essential shopping trips...

Cheers,

Martin

Good to see everyone last night. Apologies for not having the mic on but the kids were playing up in the background!

Dan

Indeed, cheers John and nice to meet you all.

I'll be heading out for a shopping trip/battery top up/mental health boost shortly...

+1 on that chaps. Good to put faces to some of those who post on here regularly. Here’s hoping for some actual rather than virtual face-to-face meetings later this year. [;)]

Jeff

Thanks for all those who joined the call yesterday evening. We had over 30 at one point but I still ended the call with topics we had not covered!

I will host another one at the end of the month. At this time it is good to have the distraction of something to look forward to.

Thanks also for the link Ralph.

Best wishes to all.

Thanks John, yes great to chat with everyone even if online rather than in real life! And good to put faces to some of the names I've been "chatting" with on here too.

Definitely up for more of these, and as others have said let's hope, when the covid situation eventually improves, we can meet up in person later in the year [:)]
