Some of our members met at the picturesque Gawsworth Hall situated near Macclesfield in the beautiful Cheshire countryside on Friday for a social distancing presentation of a cheque in the sum of £1,200 to the Christie Cancer Charity.

This cheque was presented to Louise Dawson, the community Fundraising Officer for the Christie’s Charity Fund by Phil Graham, Vice Chairman and local member of the Porsche Club, who was acting on behalf of all our local Members that kindly supported one of the club’s biggest regional events, which has been held annually at Oulton Park’s Gold Cup and which was arranged by Allan Crosby and the club’s former organising committee.

Also present was the regions good friend Rupert Richards from Gawsworth Hall who kindly hosted the social distancing presentation. Fortunately the weather was kind to us and we managed to avoid the rain.

Following all the dismal goings on recently in Region 5 that's really great news to read. Cheered me up no end[:)]

Well done. Power to you all. May all members of Region 5 have a great Christmas, all the best for New year, enjoy your cars, Club and Region.

Well done chaps. Good effort and great to see others benefitting from Club events too. In R15 we are very passionate about the charity we support, the Children's Hospice South West, and we are very lucky to have our local Porsche Centre on board in helping us raise significant amounts, as well as the other ways. Over the last few years they have "donated" 6 demonstrators for the day with a 3 course lunch included, and similar, which we have either raffled or auctioned and raised some really good amounts.
Unfortunately, because of Covid, this year we weren't able to do our traditional run to the Hospice to present the cheque in person, along with short rides in our cars for the parents and carers, so well done again for organising yours in person.[:)]

Further to the recent post relating to the cheque presentation in the sum of £1,200 on behalf of the Region 5 members towards the Christie Cancer Centre in Macclesfield, please see the attached certificate confirming receipt of the funds for your information.

A great effort for an incredibly important cause. The Christie is an amazing hospital, staffed of truly inspirational people.

My wife was a Specialist Nurse at The Christie before moving on to a training role. She loved the job and the people. Some up and down days but ALL the staff there, from Porters to Consultants, are passionate about their work and looking after those who need it. She still has some very close friends at The Christie.

A great cause and I hope to be able attend next regional event in support of the charity.
