PCCM PLUS - all on back order or do some retailers have stock?

Hi folks, I'm on the hunt for the PCCM Plus unit for my recently acquired 996 C4S (which I ADORE and is a definite keeper). I thought it would be a quick upgrade but try as I might I can't seem to find a single unit available anywhere. Is it just bad luck or have they completely run out of EU units? Thanks in advance for any insights.

Hi Rickrock
It might worth trying the OPC in Swindon they are supplying and fitting one for me tomorrow.

Thanks Andy. I tried Tewksbury OPC but they gave me the impression I had no chance and instead just said they'd "add my name to the list".... Also tried a few independents and even resorted to online only but no luck. Will give Swindon a buzz in the morning. Don't know why I didn't think of them! Will let you know how I get on.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Ended up being too busy to follow up today but will let you know how I get on this week. One other question if I may - I believe you need a new parcel shelf to replace the stock CD tray in order to complete the instal. Does anyone know the part number for this tray??

How was the install? Are you happy with the final product?

Hi Rickrock
I only had an hour to get used it but initially really pleased, i had the usb block fitted in the glove box out of sight although some might prefer it located in the cubby. It’s not cheap but on first impressions i like the way the touchscreen operates and visually it looks superb. Ill take a proper look at it over the weekend let me know if you have any other questions.
Apologies for the poor quality picture I’m struggling to change it for a better one.

Oh dear. They are about £10 cheaper if you buy one from Porsche........ 996 552 253 01 01C

Ha! Thanks for letting me know Richard. I need to be a little less impulsive sometimes! Especially when it comes to all things automotive! ?? Then again, its not the worse overspend I’ve made thanks to my passion for petrol...

Thanks Andy! I love the OEM nature of the upgrade so was sold the minute I found out they were releasing the unit. Knew it was a must have when I pulled the trigger on a 996 and I can’t wait to see it in my C4S. love to hear any further thoughts you might have once you’ve had a chance to live with it for a while. Do you have the Bose speakers as well? I heard some tales of a possible issue with the Bose sound system and the PCCM+ but not sure if that is just internet gossip or not... thanks again for the help and congrats on the purchase ??

i have the Bose system and no problems with the new PCCM+
it is very LOUD !

fitted by Precision Porsche who had fitted several to cars with Bose

i like the system but Apple Siri is absolute rubbish and for me unusable

Thanks! That’s good to know. I was going to ask who people recommend for fitting. Porsche quoted me 5 hours labour which seems quite a lot but what do I know...

I’m based in the Cotswolds so any member who has a recommendation for stereo wizards in the Gloucestershire region would be greatly received.

Very pleased to say it arrived today! Thank you for the recommendation! Will use Rose Passion again no doubt.
Now I just need to figure out who should fit it... ????

Worth checking in with RPM Technik - they do installations and offer 10% PGB discount. They’re fantastic.

Thanks Ben. Yes I hear very good things about them although I was hoping to find someone a little closer to home. I'm based in Gloucestershire (near Cheltenham).
