Meuspath. Manthey-Racing is expanding its motorsport product range with the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport "Trackday" MR and is thus launching a model perfectly tailored for Trackday use. The MR Performance package for the club sport racer consists of an extended safety package and lightweight components made of carbon and natural fibre. This leads to a weight reduction of up to 46 kilograms. In addition, the vehicle will be delivered to customers in a black and white MR special foil.

The close-to-production mid-engine sports car in the "Trackday" version is aimed at drivers who want to use a racing car at private racetrack events and club sports events. "Get in, buckle up, start, drive off" - this is the motto of the "Turn-Key" racing car. After the Porsche 911 GT3 RS MR (991.2) presented in August, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport "Trackday" MR is the second MR model presented by the Meuspath company this year.

"With the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport "Trackday" MR it is possible to gain racetrack experience within a very short time, as it is as close to series production as possible, but at the same time very compatible with the racetrack. The weight reduction and the resulting optimised power-to-weight ratio should make the model even more attractive for our customers", says Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey-Racing GmbH.

The MR Performance Kit for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport „Trackday" consists of:
  • Safety net
  • Door foam driver's side
  • Carbon front bumper
  • Carbon rear bumper
  • Carbon wings incl. lightweight headlights
  • Lightweight polycarbonate windscreen
  • Carbon tailgate
  • Natural fibre front lip
  • Natural fibre diffuser
  • Protection grille set for air intake
  • Lightweight battery
  • Rim set Manthey-Racing GT4 Clubsport (BBS) incl. wheel nuts
  • Manthey-Racing Design-Foil
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport "Trackday" MR is now available from Manthey-Racing. The selling price is € 149,900.00 (net) ex works. Additional MR options are available. Information can be obtained by contacting Motorsport Sales at sales@manthey-racing.de.

Interesting, in that it is almost entirely a lightweight project. Engine, suspension and gearbox / ratios presumably left as standard.

I suspect I would not have the experience to notice the 46 kilos as it is spread over the whole car. (I think I would if it were a sack of potatoes in the front.) A good thing to have in the Nurburgring car park though.

46kg saving with that kit isn't worth the cost or bother in my opinion! I'll be saving around 30kg on my car with a replacement rear silencer, a lightweight battery from Antigravity and another little nip and tuck here and there for a much more reasonable few thousand quid. BBS alloys would shave another 10 kilos off but they're £8k-ish a set so the cost-benefit ratio isn't as good.

I would have expected them to offer an alternative suspension option, but not so.

It is the race car... already has suspension with 3 way dampers and 120Nm springs, blade ARBs etc, and PDK of course.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks Ralph. I was thinking it was the road car with tweaks.

How much is the standard Clubsport car for comparison, do you know?

€134,000 apparently Ralph.

Circa €150,000 doesn’t sound too bad if you say it quickly and if the price includes fitting, although there’s a fair chunk of country-specific VAT to pay as well.

Jeff

I remember for the 981 version the only UK model was the 'Competition' version. Is this still the same for the 718?

Both are not road legal so you'll need to remind Santa to include the tow car and the trailer.

Nick,

I think that it’s the same with the 718; Competition version only.

Are all Clubsports LHD?

Jeff
