False Alarms on Front Parking sensors

Hi, Has anyone experienced False Alarms on Front Parking sensors with their Macan?

Ive experienced them appearing Red on the display with the audible tone for no reason, sometimes on the move and also when stationery when there is plenty of space between my and other vehicles.

When this happens, is ether a way to cancel the warning?

Regards
Barry

Not had this on a Porsche, on another `make` it`s been caused by dirty sensors (bugs / debris) … which itself was notified on the instrument cluster

As a rule, Macan's parking sensors work pretty well, but they are sensitive and can give out "false" alarms - often during rain storms, leaf fall etc. - occasionally for no apparent reason at all -although this may be due to some bumper-level passing obstruction, not visible from the cabin - my dog used to set ours off quite regularly! But it's better to have them working than not, I guess. [;)] If it is persistent though, it may be an idea to have it looked at as a possible fault.

There is an override switch bottom left in the overhead console with a red LED to show its activated. This defaults to off when the vehicle is restarted.

Yup. Occasionally happens.
I had the same parking sensor false alarms on my 718 Caymans. Over-ride switch jabbed to silence the beep.

Used to happen on mine when in stationary traffic. Would go off for no reason. Scared the life out of me as I thought maybe the car was rolling. Overriding the sensors does work so long as you remember to turn them back on again.
