718 GT4 Tyre choice

Hi,
I'm just about to take delivery of my first GT4 and would like advice on tyre choice.

I'm not sure running the cup sports make sense as the roads are pretty wet and dirty/muddy where I'm based. Can anyone recommend a tyre I could use most of the year? I can keep the cup 2's for track if needed.

Thanks again for any help.

My local dealer said I shouldn't run M sport 4s due to not being N rated.

You local dealer is ill informed as N rated Michelin PS4Ss are now available in both front and rear sizes for the GT4.

Thanks.
I'll let them know. They only offered the PZero N0.

Are they still ok if thats all they will provide?

You don't have to buy PS4Ss from your OPC, actually they'll probably struggle to get them as the rears are difficult to get.  Can you source them yourself and just get them changed at a local tyre fitting shop?  I've just checked on Tyreleader.co.uk and they are listing the fronts and rears on their site in N0 rating.

Twinfan got his elsewhere. not sure where but no doubt he'll be along soon to confirm where he sourced his PS4Ss from.

All the details are in the GT4 thread, but I got mine from Tyreleader at around £280 a rear tyre.  Camskill seem to have patchy availability but are the cheapest if they can get them at around £265 a rear tyre.  They're also available from Oponeo at £281 a rear tyre and MyTyres, although MyTyres are hideously expensive at £340+ from memory.

No, just the tyres themselves.  Oponoe and Tyreleader have free delivery, it's around £12 from Camskill for delivery I think.

Just use a local place for fitting, as I did

You've done well to get a better price than that for the rears.  £163 at Camskill was the best I could find.  I got a good deal on the fronts from Blackcircles so for all 4 I did OK.

Looks like they have confirmed the car has arrived with Dunlop Sport Maxx Race 2's.
Still worth getting the PS4S or are these Dunlop's better for everyday than the cup 2's.

No Dunlop experience, however a contributor on another thread who is running them is taking the PS4S route …

The Dunlops are still a semi-slick summer tyre, they're not an all-rounder like the PS4S.

I can only find 2 front at the moment from blackcircles. I don't think they stock the rears in N0 Rated.

They don't, no.  I asked them and they claimed they couldn't get them.

Odd for a company that's owned by Michelin...
