cayman dimensions

I can’t help with the dimensions (987 owner) but if the central brick pier will cause a problem for the door could you build with 2 brick piers and split the wall into thirds - although that may put them adjacent to each wheel causing access problems there. Carpet on the wall to protect the door is a good idea.

Hi Guys,

A very specific request for help. Have a 981 Cayman GTS. Having a garage built and the area i have is very restricted so i am asking for full dimensions for the car even down to where the door is along the length of the car when fully open. WHY you may ask?? - because the long wall requires a brick pier in them to strengthen it (100mm thick blockwork wall) and i want to try and position it so the door doesn't open out against it!! Yes the garage is that small!

Anyone help me out with this - i have tried measuring up the car on the road but it isn't very accurate?

Thanks

Andy

Parkers and Autodata have your length at 4404mm but differing widths (mirrors ?)

As a guide, my 981 GT4 is the following ….

1600mm : front of bumper to door

1300mm : door at it`s longest

When the door opens it`s width along the wall reduces by 550mm

All by hand hence `approximate` … [;)]

I'm with you on the 2 pier solution. Thought i would explore being precise about it all. Thanks. A
