Anyone who would like the instructions for this activity please email r3@porscheclubgb.com and we will happily send them on.

All, as promised we have been thinking of ways of helping you get out and enjoy your cars during our extended restrictions. We cannot offer a meet and greet, so we have come up with the idea of a treasure hunt of sort. This one is around the County Durham border primarily (we are working on a Northumbrian one also and possible a coastal or lakes challenge if this works) and will take approximately 3 hours.

So what does it entail?

We have driven around the region looking for unusual points of interest and provided grid references and questions to answer, you will need to plan your own route (you may choose to do it with others but remember to observe the rule of six and you cannot meet indoors with other households - hence its all outside!). We suggest that you complete the treasure hunt on Sunday 11 October (you might see some friends out along the route) and send in your selfies (note the questions for selfie requests) to r3@porschclubgb.com.

What next?

If you are interested in the treasure hunt follow this link to register (note that the form works on Smartphones). Please register by Friday 9 October, and we will send you the grid references and questions in good time to plan for a drive on 11 October.

Happy hunting - Philip and Jacquie

Hi Philp-Jacquie, we would have loved to have joined in but we're away this coming weekend. Hopefully the next one.

Hope everyone is well :)

Great idea to get around some of the current challenges. Alas a bit short notice this time as I’m down in Sheffield for a family birthday for a couple of days at the end of the week....I suspect coming home then immediately disappearing may not go down well with Mrs Gronk!

Let me see how the land lies When I mention it! If I don’t make it I hope everyone has a great time, and will definitely be up for the next one.

I have my instructions thank you. Might not get to do it until Monday, but still something to look forward to.

That’s fine John. Look forward to receiving your pictures

What a wonderful day out for a socially distanced drive with many stops and learning new things about our locality. That’s to Jacquie and Philip you’ve set the bar high for your first outing. Roll on the next one. ps. I’d delay putting your car to bed just yet and join in the next outing. 👌👌👍

Due to previous commitments we're having to wait until Thursday to venture out for the challenge. Sounds as if the wait will be well worth while!

Just wanted to thank Philip and Jacquie for organising the social distancing treasure hunt. We had a fantastic day and lovely drive around the North East.

Many thanks to Philip and Jaquie for planning this run, quiz, treasure hunt etc, and revealing all the things I never knew were there right in front of us. e.g. Who knew there was a fossil tree in that town that I've driven through a million times....keep up the good work.

I for one will not be SORN'ing this year....with Covid it will be a long dark winter and I'll want to be out in my car as much as possible, thanks.

If you're doing the run this week....take your umbrella!

Answers are on the way to r3@pcgb

Thanks Jacquie and Philip for the excuse to get out and about. We had a great afternoon and there were plenty of opportunities to have a look around interesting locations rather than just fly past. I still think that the road from Alston down to High Force has to be one of the best in the country, and it is on our doorstep. How lucky can we be? (We just have to accept that those pesky motorbikes and cycles get everywhere, but not many points scored yesterday)

Obviously gutted to have missed this and what a great idea , is it too late to get instructions and do this next weekend??

thanks mark

Really enjoyed the run out yesterday.

We have a glorious region to explore, made even better with an event that we could commence at a time to suit both us and the weather !

Well done to Philip and Jaquie [:)]

Hi, is it still possible to get the instructions for this? Sounds a very interesting idea, and good bit of fun

Thanks for all the positive feedback, we really appreciate it and enjoyed our day out taking silly photo's too [:D].

We will send on the instructions to those who have requested them this week, to explore some of the hidden gems in our region.

Best regards - Philip & Jacquie

Missed out on this last week unfortunately - would love to take the car out for a spin (not literally I hope ! ) on the next fine day, and the treasure hunt would provide a good opportunity - can we have details please ?
