Electric Windows problem 1973 RS Touring

When did they last work ?
It could just be very dirty contacts in the switches, they tend to arc and produce black soot and that acts like an insulator.

Thanks for the advise but it’s now fixed. A little brass connection strip that is part of the fuse box which runs behind the black plastic housing connecting the terminal ends had dropped off. I found it on the boot floor. Thanks to Porsche Kendal for fixing it.

Pleased to hear you have got it sorted and that Porsche Kendal were helpful, We were in Kendal two weeks ago meeting a R21 member who has moved near there and he said Porsche Kendal was like a breath of spring, You are lucky not all Centres are as accommodating and you have some great roads near you to enjoy, Keep them windows moving!

Many thanks. Collecting car today. Porsche Kendal have also replaced the fuel lines, one of which had been leaking. Weather forecast set fair so will drive the long way back to Windermere Newby Bridge.

Nice!!!
I was an engineer in a past life so I really love to fix such small problems on my own in my garage. My wife bought me on of the best tool chest and I haven't used it yet [:(]

Stephen, a couple of years ago after many miles in France driving using their 85E10 fuel in my 1973 2.4 S my old, probably original, flexible fuel hoses started weeping through the woven covering. This made it difficult to find out exactly where the leak was. Upon returning to the UK from the South of France, I changed all of the flexible hoses to the new British Standard hose type which is resistance to both Alcohol added petrol and diesel fuels, it took about 3 metres of hose.
Since then no problems even though I am still running on 95 octane fuel in UK and 85E10 in France (probably done about 5000 miles so far).
Pelican Parts in the USA recommend changing flexible fuel hoses every 3 to 5 years, as the fuels change from year to year.
Keep the cars moving and enjoy them.
